To save their own dying planet, aliens invade Earth to harvest life-giving human blood. Their demand is simple: eight million human lives, or the destruction of the planet. When a lottery is convened to select the unlucky few, the daughter of a scientist, Steven Chase, is chosen. Rather than sacrifice her, Chase goes on a desperate mission against the alien intruders, starting a battle in which the fate of humanity hangs in the balance.
